September 14, 2006 - Results of FP2 from Phillips Island

Could I be any happier about FP2.... NO!!!!

Randy!!! He set the pace early on, and held it. Nicky sat back in 10th (ish) for the duration of the practice session until the last minute (literally) when he pulled a run out of his ass that knocked Randy down to the 3rd spot. But, Randy rallied with a fantastic run and re-claimed the top spot. Loris landed in #2, and Nicky rounded out the psudo-podium in third. Rossi ended up 6th, and Pedrosa in 16th.

What's up with that Kawasaki??? With Randy coming in a clean first in FP2 (following a nice 5th place finish in FP1) and Shinya landing 4th in FP2 after a comfortable 6th in FP1... why can't we follow this up on race day? Maybe I am speaking too soon and it will happen on Sunday?

Either way... YAY!!! Randy. I have been pulling for you all season... and will continue to do so :)

MotoGP pulled the final results on live timing too soon, and have not yet posted them in the archive. We know who rounded out the top three. I am too tired to wait for the archived results. I'll be back tomorrow for FP3 and qualifying....
