French rider, Randy De Puniet began his motorcycle racing career in the 1990's. Taking home the title of 125cc French Champion in 1997 and 1998, Randy went on to compete in his first World Championship series in 1999.
In 2003 on board an Aprilia, he brought home three victories in the Quarter Liter class. The next season saw him straddling a ride sponsored by LCR Honda, and facing power-rider, Dani Pedrosa - ultimately dashing his dreams of a World Championship win.
In 2005, De Puniet found himself piloting an Aprilia again, this time running the colors of Repsol Aspar. The results of that season were one win and three podiums, finishing 8th overall. Randy made his move to MotoGP in 2006, riding for Kawasaki. He scored an impressive second place finish in Japan, but no title.
He returned to LCR Honda in 2008 for a season marred with crashes and a best-finish of 5th. Randy remained with Honda in 2009, and attained a podium finish in Donington, and a 4th place finish in Jerez, to highlight his year. Randy re-signed with Honda for 2010 and finished out the year 9th in the overall final standings.
For 2011, De Puniet has signed a contract with Pramac and will be piloting a Ducati for them with a new teammate, Loris Capirossi.
