Arai RX-Q
Arai RX-Q Helmet - It's not just a whole new helmet, it's a whole new class of helmet:
The Ultimate Street Helmet
A new benchmark in street helmet design and function. Arai's design criteria for the RX-Q was to build a helmet that set a new standard of quiet, comfort, ventilation and stability – all optimized to work best in the real world you ride in. As a result, the RX-Q fills a previously unrecognized void between standard street helmets and high-level race helmets, creating a new class of street helmets for other brands' top-of-the-line helmets to compete against.
WORLDWIDE helmet - Complies with the new Snell2010 regulations (meets all US and European requirements)
Arai motorcycle helmets - Innovation in pursuit of a better riding experience.

The benefits are better side-to-side visibility and awareness of what's around you, a serious advantage in real-world traffic. The RX-Q uses the same wider-eyeport SAI faceshield as our unequaled Corsair-V race helmet. |
Enhanced Side Exhaust Vents
|
New more aerodynamic side exhaust vent cowls are tailored to the needs and speeds of the street. Compared to the Corsair-V, the RX-Q's cowlings are larger, more aggressively styled, and more fluted in shape because Arai engineers know lower real-world street speeds require more surface area and a more refined shaping to deliver increased exhaust efficiency along with increased stability. In fact, the lateral stability and performance at street speeds is excellent, with less helmet movement. |
Optimized All-Over Ventilation
|
The Q's advance ventilation combines more efficiency with even less interior noise. Arai's ability to further refine proven designs to increase helmet performance proves that you don't have to reinvent the wheel to make substantial improvements. While not very "aggressive" looking, the vents are extremely efficient, flowing huge volumes of air through the interior to improve ventilation at road speeds, not race speeds. Not a lot of vent holes – just the right ones, in the right size, in the right place. |
Aerodynamics for the Real World
|
To Arai, aerodynamics are a goal to be achieved without gimmicks, without molded-in shell fad enhancements like ridges or protrusions. In other words, without trading "fashion" for protection – the shell's ultimate job. The result is that the RX-Q takes care of job-one first, then delivers a wind-slicing yet stable platform giving you real-world performance - not just in a straight line in a wind tunnel. |
Exceptional Stability
|
The uniquely-sculpted Lower Hyper-Ridge, along with the top diffuser, anchors stability. Wind-tunnel designed and tested to not just to work in a straight line like racing helmets, or at racing speeds, but in your real world of constant head-turning. The Hyper Ridge circles the shell bottom to improve shell strength and lower the center-of-gravity for a very lightweight, balanced feeling on your head. And its larger bottom opening makes for easier on-off without enlarging the helmet size. |
Intermediate-Oval Interior Shape
|
The RX-Q has an evolved version of Arai's very popular Intermediate-Oval (IO) interior shape, one similar to the current Corsair-V and Vector models, and the former RX-7 Corsair. But the RX-Q's shape represents further refinement of interior shape configurations based on Arai's continuing research, comparison, measurement and testing of human head shapes. EXAMPLE: Arai Americas conducted a massive 2009 Consumer Measuring Campaign (CMC) that measured over 750 heads of rider-attendees at the national IMS Consumer Shows across the US to obtain updated fit and shape information. Such fit/comfort/shape information is a true testimonial to Arai's passion to create the best-fitting and most comfortable helmets imaginable for the broadest assortment of rider head sizes and shapes. So, if Arai's unique multiple-interior-shape configurations were just some marketing gimmick, further study wouldn't have been necessary (not to mention really expensive). |
Smaller, Hand-Formed Shell
|
Arai helmets are comparatively small in size, more oval shaped to mimic the egg shell, "the strongest shape in nature." Arai shells are still hand-formed by artist-craftsmen, not computers ("Humans solve human problems; computers solve mathematical problems. Our helmets are made for humans.") The benefits of the smaller size better stability and stillness, minimizing the negative aerodynamic effect of turning your head to check traffic or in a cross wind. And it looks better on your head than other bigger, rounder balloon-style shell designs on the market. |

Arai alone has the experience, the quality, and the trust that truly sets them apart
Arai's name and reputation has been forged over time, the hard way. Which means they haven’t devoted three generations of the Arai family to the singular goal of no-holds-barred excellence just to turn out helmets like everybody else’s.
"Innovation in pursuit of a better riding experience" might sound like the mantra of every helmet maker. The reality is, it's not.
Because if making you feel safer and more comfortable in a better-fitting helmet for hours and hours at a time, day after day, was the goal of every company, why is Arai alone responsible for such comfort and fit advances as different interior shapes to fit different head shapes, removable/replaceable Cheekpads and Comfort liners to give you a more custom fit, and our latest, the Emergency Cheekpad Release System to aid injured riders?
In Arai's world, innovations don't come from a marketing department, they come from a decades-long history of caring about one thing: riders.
A lot of helmet companies can make motorcycle helmets. But Arai alone can also claim the unparalleled world-class quality, reputation, and technology to be chosen by all four current American MotoGP racers. Which tells you just how really special and different these helmets are. Bottom line: Arai alone can dominate areas of motorsports others can't conceive of even competing in.
Few of us can afford to own the very best of most things. But with an Arai helmet, you truly can own the very best of something.
