Honda themselves sang the praises of the 2005 CBR600F4i as "No sportbike better embodies the words ´all-around´ than the CBR600F4i. Apex-strafing, sport-riding power and handling mesh perfectly with ergonomics that result in a machine as equally at home on the track as off."
The new one-piece seat which replaced the 2003's split-seat configuration was rumored not only to to be an answer to the "comfort" complaints but also to differentiate between the F4i and CBR600RR which were released together in 2003. Honda continued to carry both the F4i and the RR until 1996 when the F4i fell off the roster.
