The letter of the law. In 2003, the Honda CBR600F4 got a fuel injection upgrade, and a trailing letter to it's designation. The "i" in the new CBR600F4i comes from the addition of high-pressure programmed fuel injection, or PGM-FI.
Other changes born in 2003 include a new electronic digital ignition, a larger and freshly revamped Dual-Stage Ram Air intake tract and box, redesigned exhaust and several pounds shaved. These changes resulted in yet another peak power increase by 5% thereby making the F4i the lightest, most powerful middleweight Honda has ever designed.
